Chick flicks

I got in today.  The nurse on the phone sounded again reluctant, at which point I played the trump card of the Urgent Care doctor having said upper-GI inflammation and that I was to be seen in GI on Tuesday.  Oh. She let me in.

I adore the doctor I got in to see.  Nancy, she’s the one your shawl went to. (And she was not there Friday.)

It might not be a new flare; it might be an adhesion from the surgery. Or a fistula. Or even another blockage (don’t think so).  CT scan tomorrow with the requisite fasting and pre-procedure meds.

Meantime, here are a couple of chick flicks for those so interested. The second is of last year’s banding, with the parents screaming past the guy’s head every few seconds–you can tell why he’s wearing a hard helmet!

My dad had trouble with adhesions after having a bit of his colon snipped out. Everything is trying hard to heal, and it may get confused as to what is supposed be growing back to. It wouldn’t be pleasant, because they do have to go in a snip things again, but it’s better than having your body going into full-blown fits again. I hope tomorrow brings manageable news.

Sending love and healing/quick recovery thoughts your way! Oh – and take your time on the dryer – it’s not going anywhere, so don’t even give it a thought ’til you’re good and ready.

So glad you were able to get in to see the doctor. You are on the road back to go health. It’s a start. Receptionist have way too much power at the doctor’s office…bypass her and ask to go to the nurse’s voice mail if she doesn’t cooperate.

Love the chick flicks!!! So interesting! Thank you.

Hooray! I’m glad the delay did lead to a doctor you like.

I am so glad you were seen.
Sending thoughts for crystal clear ‘pictures’ and a CT reader who is a smart as they come.

Very good! We’ve come a long way from the meek “Yes, nurse. Yes, doctor.” Now assertiveness training (which they gave us in nursing school to get us past the “Doctor = God” generation) is for patients, too.

Hooray…ya trumped ’em!
May this day go quickly and feelin’ for your having to fast. There will be chocolate time after the procedure though, yes? 🙂

I’m so glad you got in and are having this thoroughly checked out. And thanks for the chick flicks — the eagle cam at Barton Cove (MA) is out of commission due to a bad storm last winter — so I’ve been missing my tiny predator fix!

there’s an awful lot of strength in that tiny little body. Mother nature is giving you more than your share of misery. I’m saying it out loud now: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Hope you’re back up to snuff soonest, dear.

Oh, I’m so glad you got to a doctor you liked! And the news of no new flare seems like a step in the right direction? I hope you’re feeling better soon 🙂

Glad to know that you are feeling better. Hope the CT went smoothly today. I will be waiting to hear how you are.

Um, trump card indeed. Yes gatekeeper woman, the doctor’s orders top yours. sheesh. Shouldn’t she have gone to ask the doctor what they wanted to do?

Now I’m sure it was you I saw leaving the building at 12:15. My son and I were waiting for his prescription. I recognized you by your shawl first and then your hair. Your husband is much taller right? I was too shy to yell your name and didn’t want to bother you!

Hope it’s something entirely treatable. Thinking good thoughts your way.
