I was talking to a friend at a dinner this evening; he’s a lawyer and had this to share:
A doctor, an engineer, and a lawyer were each claiming that theirs was the oldest profession.
The doctor: Well, Eve was made from Adam’s rib–clearly, that was quite the medical intervention.
The engineer: Genesis says that the earth, the sky, the day, the night, everything was created from chaos. So clearly it was a feat of engineering.
The lawyer, triumphantly: Chaos?
