Random weird word of the day: pilgarlic. Dating from 1529, originally describing a bald man (like a peeled clove of garlic) but gradually morphing into (per Merriam Webster) “A man looked upon with humorous contempt or mock pity.” The perfect word for the night of the White House Correspondents Dinner. Someone go tell Jimmy Kimmel ‘dotard’ has competition.
