It looks really neat, but two things come to mind … 1) is it legal?, 2) how are they going to keep all the pennies on the bear?

One more thing comes to mind – copper tarnishes. Will she stay shiny? Are the pennies coated?

Quite Curious indeed. Spent the last 20 minutes exploring the legality of using coins in art. Some say there’s no specific prohibition, others insist merely taking it out of circulation is illegal. Hopefully the artists checked with real authorities as they’ve made several and auctioned them for a pretty penny.
