Swifts are great, but a well-handwound ball of yarn is its own art form.

I have a swift and ball winder, but it seems an awful lot of trouble to set it up…unless I decide to do a whole batch.

You do a beautiful job! My hand-winding turns out very wibbly wobbly.

I love hand-winding, I find it very restful and meditative.

I also have a swift and ball winder, but aslo find using a noste pin or even a pencil very meditative.
