I may have picked that up along the way

(The colors are better than my phone claims.)

I finished another hat for the work crew; I’ll run the ends in when they’re here so they can feel like they got to see part of that one happening, too. Man, it feels good. And I did get to Cottage Yarns in South San Francisco and stocked up on guy colors and started in on the next.

The skein that’s still in the hank is the one that arrived as expected from Imagiknit, along with the usual business card.

But the other side of it is no longer blank.

Imagiknit got bought out this past summer by one of its former employees, and one can only wonder in astonishment at what some customer must have said to elicit this.

And then I laughed, hard, thinking who this got sent to, because, yeah.

lol. I’ve a swift and a ball winder, but sometimes I just want to sit with the skein on my knees and wind the ball by hand around a pencil (or needle). And, of course, it will get tangled and the ‘simple’ task will take longer than it should, but I’m usually watching tv and don’t really care. 🙂 Can’t say I’ve ever tried to knit from the skein. Reminds me of when my son was in the Air Force and the barracks had all these signs “Don’t…” all kinds of things not to do. After reading a few and some really stupid ones, my son finally realized the signs were because ‘someone’ had done whatever each sign was about. He apparently had more common sense than many. lol

Oh, that’s funny! Who kicked up how much of a fuss to get that put there?

A friend of a friend knits from the skein. She carefully opens it up, removes any ties or bands then drapes it over her shoulders like a lei and knits away. When done for that session, she twists the skein back into a store-like knot and tucks it into her bag.
