Two more days and counting till the haircut appointment.
I had a six months’ trim appointment that never happened because Covid did.
It’s been a long time coming.
How about you all?

I’ve been getting regular haircuts for a while. I’m usually the only client in the salon, and we both wear masks. It was really hard on my stylist, as she did qualify for any of the stimulus packages. From a prior part-time job, she got about $65 per week in unemployment.
Comment by Anne 06.08.21 @ 11:16 pmMy hair was so long that I was wearing pigtails or a ponytail to keep it off my neck. (Hair generates loads of heat.)
I got it cut last Thursday so short that my tiny hoop earrings can be seen. Just in time for this weeks 93 degree temps. Easy care, wash and wear.
Went from short, short, short spiky that I wore for years to below the shoulder and just got a perm 2 days ago. We’ll see how this goes.
Comment by Jayleen Hatmaker 06.09.21 @ 7:32 amI had very short hair last March and now it’s down around my shoulders. Good thing it’s quite wavy or you’d see the ear-shaped cutout at the bottom edge!
Now that I’m vaccinated, I really should get around to at least getting it evened out.
Comment by twinsetellen 06.09.21 @ 8:04 pmMy last haircut was Aug 2020.
It has been so hot and humid here in Toronto that my curly hair is springing out in many directions. I don’t think I have had hair long enough for a ponytail (even a small one) in decades. It’s been weird!
I really prefer the ease of dealing with short hair especially in the summer.
I believe my hairdresser and i will both receive our second vaccinations about the same time – then I can look forward to catching up over that much-needed haircut.
Enjoy your haircut!
Comment by Lisa RR 06.10.21 @ 8:09 pmHave kept my hair very short for years. When things shut down I bought a Wahl Clipper and started cutting my own hair. I am not quite as skilled as my barber, but a #2 does most of the cut, with a #1.5 on the sides and back and cleaning up around ears and back of neck with the bare clippers. Probably won’t go back to professional hair cuts anytime soon as this saves me $20+ every 3 weeks.
Comment by wildknits 06.11.21 @ 6:10 pmMany years ago, I grew my hair to nearly waist length and donated it, three times. The last time I did that was in March of 2015, and I had my head shaved for St. Baldrick’s (they raise money for children’s cancer research). I enjoyed the freedom of extremely short hair so much, that I’ve been shaving it every 6-8 weeks since then. No Covid long locks for me!
