Twenty and a quarter inches, 8 lbs 4 oz, 1:00 this afternoon and all went well.

Parker was given a big-brother package by the hospital and, finding a stuffed animal in it, he took it out and gave it to his new sister.

So sweet!

One of my sisters is a Christmas Eve baby, and the best advice I can share is to give this new little one the gift of having her birthday and Christmas be separate occasions/celebrations.

My dad’s birthday was on 12/19, and he generally received joint birthday/Christmas presents as a child, so when my sister came along (#5 out of 6 kids), he decreed that everything for her birthday needed to be wrapped in birthday paper. After her family birthday party was over, then the big kids would help Mom & Dad decorate the house, tree, etc. so the living room was a Christmas wonderland the next morning for the little kids. Such fond memories.

Oh, another tradition was to have leftover birthday cake for breakfast Christmas morning. Yum!!

Congratulations. May the new baby granddaughter bring the whole family much joy (which makes up for all the hard wor!)

I too have a Christmas Eve sibling, and made a completely different day to Christmas Day all his childhood, so much so that as an adult with adult thigns happening, he hasn’t seem to mind that others roll it all into one. No mean feat as my father was an Anglican clergyman, with a very busy time of year. A L W A Y S a separate birthday party the day before (how the other chilren’s mothers would have liked a bit of relief from the pressure), always two presents on two different days.

Awaiting to hear the name chosen, and if precedence proceeds, it will be a name I would never have thought of.

Stella, surname now verted to Collard, will change the stock insert on my next comment left.

Most warmest welcome to the angel and congratulations to the parents!

They are doing a great job raising their sons, very apparently. 🙂

Happy belated Christmas to you and yours!
