For those who haven’t heard, Stephanie Pearl-McPhee will be doing a booksigning at Books Inc in San Francisco next Thursday night.  I called ahead to reserve a copy of her latest book to make sure I’d get one; you never know when it comes to non-knitters running a knitters’ event.  Always fun to see their jaws drop at the turnout she gets. See you there!

She has FINALLY agreed to come to DFW Fiber Fest (I guess the tours never coincided with our schedule in the past) and that is going to be a jam-packed talk. Agree about the bookshop people – they really underestimate knitters.

Say hi for me! She’s been to my house and Guild a few times – I always make her veggie quesadillas and have good beer on hand!
Hoping she can squeeze in a visit to Aurora soon…

I can’t wait for her new book! And non-knitters should really listen when they are told to expect a BIG turnout. A few years back our Albany branch of Barnes and Noble agreed to host a knit-in and kept insisting on providing 10 to 20 chairs. When the huge numbers of knitters showed up and blocked all the aisles in the store, the “powers that be” at B&N decided not to host any future knit-ins. Too bad! We had such a good time!

Wish I could be there … but I don’t do the “drive to SF in the evening” thing. Maybe I can get DH to switch his hours/days (-:

p.s. that’s not a very big store – hope they are planning on using the outside plaza for seating.
