Sandy

From the shark falling out of the California sky, which was funny (since nobody was hurt and it lived) to the one swimming past the front porch of a flooded home in New Jersey today. Yow.

I’ve been reading updates from my sister in Manhattan and my daughter in Baltimore, along with various others.  I’ve been hesitant to call for fear of draining needed cellphone batteries at their end.

To all in the path of Sandy, my prayers go with you. Stay safe.

I knew I would have to stay tuned to the Weather Channel so I decided a prayer shawl would be just the right project to start. We need to keep the prayers going.

I am glad my daughter lives in upper Manhattan where the storm has caused problems but not tragedy. I hope your sister is similarly located and not near Battery Park.

I hope your loved ones fared well. It’s still cloudy, but we’re supposed to be clearing up as the day goes on.

Still praying for everyone’s safety. We had gusty winds and some rain in our immediate vicinity but there was serious damage in nearby areas.

praying for the safety of your family and everyone else back there

(and might I mention here that this sure feels like a change in our climate!)

Sandy is NASTY! And people complain about our earthquakes.

It was mostly just wet and windy in my part of Northern Virginia. We havne’t lost power. I think our Derecho in June (a straight wind as opposed to a twisting wind called a tornado) cleared out a lot of our weaker trees. I am sending my sympathy further north to where they got flooding.

Adding my prayers to yours for all those impacted by the storm…

From Ground Zero Sandy here. We’re fine, lost a couple of fences but that seems to be it. However there was a rash of robberies in the neighborhood while we were gone. We didn’t get hit but a dear knitting neighbor did. I just can’t understand how people can do that!!
