Richard’s Uncle Rosel (pronounced RAW-zul) passed this afternoon. He was elderly but it was quite unexpected.
But–but–I wanted to SEE them again, both of them!
I am grateful beyond words that we got to see him and his wife several times in the last few years and that they made the effort to come to our son’s wedding four years ago. Where pictures were taken.

Comment by Jody 05.03.12 @ 4:58 amMy mother passed away this morning. Totally unexpected. Her heart and lungs were strong; she was awake at 5:15, and was gone by 6.
Comment by Sherry in Idaho 05.03.12 @ 6:14 amI am so sorry for you loss, and for Sherry’s as well. Prayers and cyber hugs.

Comment by DebbieR 05.03.12 @ 9:32 amI’m so sorry for your losses. (And to those who have successfully finished with this annoying mortality stuff and gone home, Congratulations.)
When I wrote the history of my neighborhood, we were concerned that our oldest resident, Grace, wouldn’t last long. She passed on this spring, in her late 90’s. But the longest time resident, Ken, who was actually born here, passed on a year ago at the age of 63. I am so glad I was able to interview them both in time and get their stories. I guess the lesson I have learned is to never wait to hear someone’s story.
Comment by LauraN 05.03.12 @ 10:35 amI’m terribly sorry for your loss, Alison.
Comment by melanie 05.03.12 @ 12:12 pmI, too, am sorry for your loss. Pictures will be all the more cherished, now, I’m sure.
Comment by Suzanne in Montreal 05.03.12 @ 3:04 pmSorry to hear this, Alison (and Richard). And Sherry, what a shock this must be. My mother passed away on January 2 and I’m still adjusting. A friend told me it will be a few years before I feel “adjusted” to her not being here.
