You can’t divide 16 into 58 and 26 doesn’t play well with it either.

I did goofball math three months ago when I started this shawl, in trying to transcribe my scattered notes at the time.  I only caught it after working all day on it, all the while admiring the way the light catches and dances off the silk in the yarn.  It was seriously pretty and seriously soft.

It still is. No way was I going to rip it out.

It took some grumbling and a “what’s wrong?” from my sweetie and finally realizing there simply was no way and giving up. Redesign time!

And now the rest of it is going to be beautiful, too. Totally different from what I’d envisioned, but hey.

I promise not to say to the recipient, Oh, but it was really supposed to look like…

New design elements are a good thing.

LOL!! The math is what turns me off from designing. Well… that and my no-visualization thing.

heh, well — this is why I don’t design knitted pieces — I’m just too much of a math idiot! I’m sure, however, that you will figure it out and it will be awesome

I’ve had the same redesign problem with text. You’ll get it — eventually.

Oh yes, redesign time happens. When you understand that it just “has” be altered. My friend concurred. The thumbs on Sam’s gloves would look better in 2×2. I’m going to try dropping the knits and reworking them as purls. Hoping I don’t goof it totally and have to frog.

I have been having brain fog the past few months (stress + fibromyalgia = fog)
Numbers are not my friends! Except as individuals. I quite like 7. And 9, too. It’s only when they get together in little cliques that they drive me bonkers. Anyway. I have several almost completed patterns waiting for my math to sharpen up again.
But (as you can see from today’s blog post on otterwise) I have found a way to keep busy this month!

Design features happen when we least expect them!

And YAY for the gratuitous Parker picture!
