Day three

Well, I was at this stage.

And then I got all these messages from my readers–you lifted me up more than I can say.  Thank you.

Our kids called or messaged home, as did various other family members.  You know that did me much good.

And today my friend Kathryn emailed and asked what she could do. Could she, say, doorbell-ditch some ice cream for me?

And I, Haagen-Daz right in front of me, had to tell her, Sorry, Richard scooped you.

Marguerite called and refused to be brushed off. I told her Richard was working from home, keeping close tabs on me.

No, but what do you crave? I need to *do* something!

Honestly? I’d love one of those little (I was thinking 8 oz) bottles of mango juice from Trader Joe’s. But it’s not worth the trip just for that one little thing, don’t feel you have to.

She showed up on my doorstep with a quart of it and flowers.

I have so many good people around me buoying me up–we both do–both in person and by phone and online. I feel well taken care of and very very fortunate on all counts.

My first dinner since Monday stayed down.  It was small, but, hey, and the ice cream did too.

And I’m a lot closer to feeling like this.

The best thing, of course, is that you are starting to feel better. The next is that you have learned to receive as graciously as you give.

Lynn said it perfectly. I pray that you continue to feel better. You reallly deserve it.

SO glad you’re on the mend. Keep resting, keep nibbling at the Haagen-Daz, keep mending! I’m also grateful that you have so many dear friends nearby to stop in and help lift you up as you help lift others up when they need it!

Now, back to your ice cream. Hey, stick with what works!

Hooray! And you know, that’s how life works. We take turns leaning on each other and taking care of each other. You do so much for so many, so of course they want to return the favor.

SO good to hear that you are doing better! As I’m sure you know, Dr. Remen makes a distinction between curing and healing. Ice cream heals.

Parker, first pic: Whaddya mean I can’t have any ice cream!

Second pic: Wow! Whee! Hi, there, mommy!

Hey, did you know that Haagen-Daz makes a mango ice cream as one of their 5-Ingredient Keep-it-Simple flavors? Like eating a frozen mango. Combine your two loves in one! So glad you are doing better.

I see your ‘will to live’ brought along it’s friend ‘humor’ with it…that’s good news! Sorry I’ve been AWOL…life is rather kicking my keister at the moment.

How can Parker have that pout with those super cute football jammies?

Marian’s suggestion makes me wish I lived in America. I’d look into that if I were you.

Get-better-wishes being sent your way.

I bet those pictures of you and Parker, and probably even moreso the pictures of Richard and Parker, are doing their bit in improving your mood, too. Steady as she goes. I wish I were local so I could bring you mango juice, too!
