It was so wonderful, while my husband and I were saying our prayers together last night and this morning for each of our kids as we always do, to be able to say not just “and the baby,” but, “Parker.”
Huge feet on a baby is supposed to say he’ll be a tall one. Given his 6’9″ daddy, this will surprise no one. I can just picture Parker teasing his father someday by looking down at him and calling him “Little Buddy” right back at him.
(It’s amazing. One day, and he already looks older.)

Many congratulations!! May he always be healthy, smart, and have lots of friends and family. My new nephew is also named Parker–must be a popular name for a December baby this year. 🙂
Comment by Joanne 12.22.10 @ 2:37 amParker has a cute little feet blanket (not to scale).
Comment by LynnM 12.22.10 @ 4:03 amBless you. Your life will never be the same. I lost my heart to a little boy baby almost 17 years ago and he never gave it back to me….
Comment by Judy Foldi 12.22.10 @ 6:27 amSoooo very happy for you and the new little family. . .with their beautiful boy!
Comment by Pam 12.22.10 @ 7:22 amParker is a good name: strong and dignified. And now your heart will live outside your body forever.
Comment by sherry in Idaho 12.22.10 @ 7:54 amAwww, he is so sweet. There is no feeling like that first grandchild. I fell so in love the first time I looked into Braedy’s eyes and six years later he still melts me. Enjoy!
Comment by Julie 12.22.10 @ 8:57 amWell, it will be at least a few weeks before Parker is looking down at his dad. In the meantime you can look upon a gorgeous boyby!
Comment by Don Meyer 12.22.10 @ 9:41 amSo sweet! And a nice way to celebrate the season. May this Christmas bring you love and peace, family and friends and all of this into the new year.
Comment by marti 12.22.10 @ 10:03 amEvery once in awhile I have to switch over from what I’m doing on the Internet and look at Parker one day older.
Comment by RobinM 12.22.10 @ 1:37 pmCongratulations, Grandma! You have no idea the ride you’re in for. Grandkids are so much more fun than kids. Is that because we’re more relaxed? Been there/done that?
I remember when my son was born…my mom asked if I thought he’d grow into his feet like a puppy…and he did! But no where near 6’9″!!
Comment by PghCathy 12.22.10 @ 2:57 pmParker’s growth is exponential at this stage! Enjoy each changing day.
Comment by Sandra 12.22.10 @ 2:58 pmOh, he is just absolutely a beautiful baby. You are rightfully proud.
Comment by Joansie 12.22.10 @ 3:24 pmWhat a good gene pool Parker has.
A good height is a plus from my viewpoint (all 5 feet of me), with three children who are looking as though they won’t do much in the Growth Department, despite Dad being 5′ 9″.
Comment by StellaMM 12.22.10 @ 5:29 pmI know it must be getting boring to hear (hah!), but Parker is beautiful. What a wonderful way to celebrate the season, whether the returning of sun and light and life or the Christian song of love and life. I celebrate the first, but celebrate those who celebrate the second, too. 🙂
