Shawl-abration time

Seven thousand seven hundred forty tiny pink loops today, two rounds of icing my hands so I could keep going, and it’s time to call it a night. But not before I take a moment to compare the growing shawl to the scarf whose color the doctor complimented (but which I didn’t have enough of in my stash) when I asked him what his wife might like.

Thank you, Sandi at Purlescence, for helping me find a good match after all when I was afraid it couldn’t be done.

Icing of your hands?! *shakes her head*

Of course, so many stitches must require a lot of activity… As long as it doesn’t compromise your recovery! *wink* 🙂

I hope you are all enjoying an improving health!

Lovely lace and colors. I have raised eyebrows over the iced hands, but I also know you have a deadline in sight!

No one ever accused you of dodging a task. Remember to enjoy the knitting, though.

Shoot, just enjoy that you CAN knit!

Never thought of ice–I always think of wanting warm. Beware the speed knitting demon

OK, how are you really? I finally found the yarns but haven’t had the energy to start knitting what with 45 years worth of house to sort out and decide what to take with us. Why did I decide to move? Oh yeah, the stairs….
But how are you – really?

Honestly, Alison, I don’t know what to say. It’s one thing to really want to give something NOW but at the risk of such injury to your hands?

I will defer to your experience with things and hope you take it easy with the knitting muscles for a day or so.

You man you actually count all those stitches? Well, once again you are out of my domain, so I’ll stick to the humor:

A is for Apple, and B is for Boat,
That used to be right, but now it won’t float!
Age before Beauty is what we once said,
But let’s be a bit more realistic instead.

Now A’s for arthritis; B’s the bad back,
C is the chest pains, perhaps cardiac?
D is for dental decay and decline,
E is for eyesight, can’t read that top line!

F is for fissures and fluid retention,
G is for gas which I’d rather not mention.
H is high blood pressure–I’d rather it low;
I for incisions with scars you can show.

J is for joints, out of socket, won’t mend,
K is for knees that crack when they bend.
L for libido, what happened to sex?
M is for memory, I forget what comes next.

N is neuralgia, in nerves way down low;
O is for osteo, the bones that don’t grow!
P for prescription’s, I have quite a few,
Just give me a pill and I’ll be good as new!

Q is for queasy, is it fatal or flu?
R for reflux, one meal turns to two.
S for sleepless nights, counting my fears,
T for Tinnitus; there’s bells in my ears!

U is for urinary; big troubles with flow;
V is for vertigo, that’s “dizzy,” you know.
W is for worry, NOW what’s going ’round?
X is for X ray, and what might be found.

Y is another year I’m left here behind,
Z is for zest that I still have–in my mind.
I’ve survived all the symptoms, my body’s deployed,
and I’ve kept twenty-six doctors fully employed!!!.

387 stitches/row, 20 rows, I was curious. (Might have been 21 rows, but who’s counting.)

Wow, the color is very lovely. And your determination is enviable.
