I told my son John about that plum sauce and A.’s visit, and he emailed back, Please leave me some? I’ll be home in December!

He’s been on his mission for the Mormon Church for 18 months now.  Homemade plum sauce for winter sounded t0 me like a marvelous way to anticipate and then celebrate the day he comes home.  So there is now a container in the freezer marked for the occasion to come: memories, neighbors, family, fruit tree history, it’s all in that Rubbermaid, waiting and ready for him.

I take it you neglected to mention the applewood-smoked bacon chocolate bar?

And everytime you look in the freezer and see the container, you can smile at the anticipation of the celebration to come.

How wonderful that sounds…coming home after a long yet fulfilling trip to family, friends, & comfort food. Maybe you could knit up something plum colored too;)

Wow! You and John certainly are NOT plum outta luck. Sounds like you hold a plum position.

Fun:

STOPPED FOR SPEEDING

A priest is driving down to New York and gets stopped for speeding in Connecticut. The state trooper smells alcohol on the priest’s breath and then sees an empty wine bottle on the floor of the car He says, “Sir, have you been drinking?” “Just water,” says the priest. The trooper says, “Then why do I smell wine?” The priest looks at the bottle and says, “Good Lord! He’s done it again!”
