It’s too lace to escape now

A little water, a little waiting. And now you can see the slight shimmer to the woolly Malabrigo Sock-y goodness, the depth of the pattern, and oh by the way you can pull it through my wedding ring–and it’s a blanket.

Or will be, in about a bajillion more knitting hours.  Carrying it to Nina’s annual Christmas party and showing it off to her was fun but doesn’t seem to have added any length to it by just admiring its lacy looks. (The chocolate torte that came too was nowhere to be found when it was time to come home again. I think it entered the nibs-less protection program. Or ran off with the ChocolateNess Monster.)

Right then. Back to work.

I am fixin’ to [as we say here in Texas] try my hand with some of the Manos Lace, once granddaughter #2 approves the design and gives me a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down on the question of beads. I have about 15 rounds to go before I start the toe decreases on granddaughter #1’s [second] sock. Which I will most certainly not be able to pull through a wedding ring.

Bow tie. I have to finish the bow tie. The gentleman’s birthday was last saturday (I didn’t know)and I need it MADE. But it isn’t growing any either. Size one needles, double knit. Maybe for New Year’s?

Isn’t it funny that things often work that way? I found the old cocoa can fudge recipe and it worked just right. It is the only fudge recipe that is worth bothering with. HM, maybe some vinegar taffy next? Not much knitting getting done, although it is snowing here.

Oh – there’s just something about making blankets, isn’t there? All our blankets are ones I have made, I’m finishing up another (for the recliner downstairs) and in planning stages (I have about half the yarn I’m going to need) for yet another.

I would ordinarily tell you I’m not a fan of big projects, but something in me just can’t resist a blanket…

Hoping you are having a warm and joyous season!

Well, don’t blame ME for the missing chocolate torte! As for pulling blankets through wedding rings — oh, never mind.

Hmmm… The Knight has quite large/round fingers. If I judge by what I can pull through his, almost every blanket I’ve ever made…

All that knitting time is just that many more hours to let the blanket soak up your love.

If torte reform would pass, then maybe the nibs-less protection service wouldn’t be needed.

If only admiration and petting resulted in stitches knitted – we’d all be much further along with our projects! 🙂
