We didn’t even get to the issue of the kitchen entryway and they took no notice of it as being any kind of a problem.
They said they were not allowed to install it unless there was a water shut-off behind the fridge. That made no sense: why have it where you can’t possibly get at it? Richard pointed out that we have the valve–it’s under the sink. That’s the way they did it 31 years ago.
Nope. Not allowed. Did we have the requisite size valve? They could do it right then if we did.
(Why would we…) Some back and forth that even my captions app couldn’t decipher for the accent, some talking to the Costco phone support guy who agreed with us but maybe it was the LG folks? (Mumble warranty and installation fully done by them or some such thing going on in the background? Don’t know.)
So the fridge never made it out of the truck and they left. Richard got told what to go buy at Home Despot and they’ll see us Tuesday and there will be an extra charge but they didn’t know what it would be. The old fridge is now in the center of our square box of a kitchen and we turned it enough that you can now get to the silverware and the oven to either side.
