I keep thinking I’m getting close to finishing this baby afghan and I keep thinking, no, at least 10″ more: Colourmart’s swatch showed a 3.9″ tall swatch shrinking to 3″ in the wash. I have to knit that extra length that’s not going to be there.
It will fluff and puff out into exquisite softness.
Here, let me go finish my 2″ quota for the day. Meantime, I love my front walkway this time of year and the first peach tree out back is about to burst into pink all over.
(Are the tops of my photos getting cut off for you these days? Or just over here? It’s not been letting me fix them.)

We have one very confused rose bush in our backyard. It already has a couple of buds, but we had a few freezing nights last week, so I don’t expect those to flower.
Your daffodils are early, too. Should be a couple more weeks – closer to St David’s Day, March 1 (says your friend with Welsh roots).
The picture is cut off on the blog, but when you click it it’s all there, just sideways.
Comment by Anne 02.04.26 @ 11:52 pmAs Anne said, the photo is cut off on the blog, but if you click through you can see the whole thing, but sideways. Was it rotated at some point?
And here we had some beginnings of daffodils and jonquils and whatever, but that was before the ice storm and then the snow storm so there’s no telling whether any of them will show this year. I guess I wait to see.
Comment by Margo Lynn 02.05.26 @ 7:53 amThe knitting 2 inches and not gaining any length phenomena is real. And yes, photo is cropped at top and sideways when clicked.
