What do people do who don’t have hearing losses around to entertain them?
Richard was reading the contents of the Odwalla fruit juice label aloud.
“Wait,” I stopped him–“one cup of flamingos?”
…*What?!*

I have no dicernible hearing loss, and I *still* hear things funny. And then there are the things half-read that make me go “???”

Comment by Sherry in Idaho 12.05.11 @ 9:06 amUm. Get married? We were listening to This American Life on Saturday (http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/452/poultry-slam-2011) and Act 2, Murder Most Fowl had us laughing hysterically. But the part that really got us going was a bit where they mention that a couple had raised slugs. “What?” my husband asked. “Were they pet slugs? Did they take them for walks?” “Very slow walks,” I said straightfaced. It only got sillier from there.

Comment by Bev 12.05.11 @ 9:49 amRobin, that is hilarious!
Well, better flamingos than cockatiels.
Comment by Don Meyer 12.05.11 @ 9:49 amA slight case of dyslexia makes reading the newspaper and the internet SO much more entertaining.
Comment by LauraN 12.05.11 @ 10:33 amFun stuff. I keep hubs around for mis-heard things, and he CLAIMS to hear just fine. But, then, we we’re a punny family and mess things up on porpoise, too.
