I’m a firm believer in letting water do the work. A good soak vs serious elbow grease? Water is not lazy.
It appears to have been a jar of barbecue sauce that fell out of the fridge and broke spewing underneath the fridge. Everything that could be reached and cleaned had been and there was never any smell of anything, and our backs trying to move that thing was not going to happen but as far as I could tell, I’d gotten it all, so it was soon forgotten.
It is safe to say I was mistaken. Wow.
I laid wet paper towels over what we found and gave it a scrub. Pulled the broken glass out–it’s dark back there, and I marveled that I’d found it safely.
Then I laid more paper towels over it and simply poured water on top and left it for a few hours. Got quite a bit more off after that. Did it again.
And this time, at long last, a simple spatula was all I needed to just lift the whole thing out of there and paper towel the damp away.
The killer is that we need to turn that fridge the other way before the installers come back to expose that one last corner of formerly underneath, just just just to make sure….
We’ll call friends for help. Sunday’s Sabbath, however, will be a much-appreciated day of rest first.
