Pepper grinder

Part of me is quite sorry–any tree gone is a loss. Most of me is relieved. It was an invasive planted who knows by whom in the wrong spot. The deed is done.

Turns out the core of the trunk was in very bad shape, crumbling to nothing, with the damage radiating out to the edges in a few places. We may well have dodged more than we knew.

The baby peach tree is going to do great there.
