The peregrines: the fourth egg hatched, two days after its siblings. It’s clearly a female because it’s almost as big as the others and it gets its beak right in there begging for food.
Monty brought in a meal without getting enough feathers off it first. Hartley harrumphed, grabbed it from him, did a how-it’s-done and then fed the kids herself.
The next time, Monty was determined and the food was prepared.
And so the cam crew managed to get this very unusual shot.
