She’ll be springing forward all over again too

These pictures, taken at dusk today, are for my mom most of all.

While waiting to hear from Dad, I took my need not to be worrying about things out on that afghan: *ripped back, started over, repeated from * once and then I had it. It’s on its way now and finally beautiful and I love it and it’s such a relief.

Meantime, my mom had struggled with a torn meniscus for months and finally had knee surgery today (correction via Dad–they did a knee replacement). Dad reports that she is pushing the familiar green pain-med button every 15 minutes. The worst is over, the good part’s coming, and now my mother, who loves to take a good brisk walk, will be able to again when the healing is done.

And just for Mom, this red amaryllis that Dad gave me for Christmas a few Decembers ago that sat for several months this year refusing my entreaties to come up–and then finally did–opened its two flowers today, the universe sending my parents flowers. I quite like that.

And the first two tomato seedlings sprang out of the pot and then straightened their nodded heads to look up and show off their first two leaves to the sky, too, today. Tadaah! They’ve got a Spring in each step.

Prayers for your Mom’s healing going her way! I know how grateful she’ll be to walk pain free again, having had both my hips replaced almost 9 years ago now. All my best wishes to her.

The tall one had the same surgery yesterday. He is doing fine, besides being loopy for some time, and plans on being back to basketball reffing by next season. I hope for as similar fast recovery for your mom.

Hi. No, the torn meniscus was not what was corrected, was not the cause of distress. It was the worn away, no longer there knee cartilege (that spelling is wrong). What she had was a left knee replacement, a bigger deal.
Love, Dad

It’s ‘cartilage’ I think.
I see Bradford is in full bloom!
My prayers for your mother’s successful recovery from knee replacement.

Hope your flower pics bring a smile to your mom’s face after her knee procedure (I’ll dodge the controversy and remain vague yet acknowledge the seriousness!) Hope she’s pain free and up and about sooner than expected.

The recovery isn’t fun on the knee, but after the recovery is. I hope she gets to that stage very quickly!

Best wishes for a full recovery. I’m sure those flower photos cheered her!

At least she knows the current pain will soon disappear, unlike the uncertainty of chronic pain. Sending healing thoughts that she will soon be walking without any pain at all!

beautiful flowers, love the time of the amaryllis. Sending healing thoughts to you mom (and I strongly suggest take-out).

And hugs to you, who have to sit and Not Worry really actively.;

Oh my. Total lack of cartilage. Bone on bone. Yup. My left knee can identify with that. My doc is delaying replacement as long as possible but without the injections, I totally cannot walk. I am sending your mom hugs and hope that she has an excellent recovery. Everyone I know who’s gotten through it well is so happy with their new knees. I hope it works right for your mother.
