Heading out for another busy day with more relatives but I wanted to stop and say: looking out the window, there is new snow on the mountains right above us. Some of the peaks that were spring-green when I got here.
It’s Memorial Day.
Toto, I don’t think we’re in California anymore.

Sissy would like some of that snow. She’s gotten hot on our walks two days in a row now. Not dangerously so, but enough so that I’ll find that special doggy water bottle thing I used to use when Mugsy and I were runners and take it with us, even on the short walks.
Comment by Channon 05.30.11 @ 9:41 amGee, all the great (?) weather you and Toto are missing here in California. Temps in the mid 60’s, occasional rain. Bleah!
Comment by Don Meyer 05.30.11 @ 2:30 pmAt least you and Toto don’t have to worry too much about tornados there.
Comment by LauraN 05.30.11 @ 6:16 pmCalifornia, snowstorm one day.
AC the next. As in last Wednesday and Thursday.
It is nice to be home, in Idaho, where it seems like it is cold and wet all the time.
My cousin in Steamboat Springs, CO called the local meteorologist to correct his comment that everywhere in CO was clear and beautiful. She was watching big snowflakes at the time. He made the correction on air. That made her happy! BTW, it was last Saturday!
Comment by Jody 05.31.11 @ 7:03 amyup, here in the mountains (I’m on the other side of those) it can snow one day and be 80 degrees the next — like it is forecast for today!
