A job well done

Rain is falling, mellow slow-mo California style, a child’s connect-the-dots plaything, nothing whatever like the great raging storms I grew up with in Maryland.  And then: rare-here lightning and thunder just struck. Reports from friends just south are of a simultaneous thunderlightning *BOOM!*

Cooool.

Meantime, Friday, my daughter-in-law heard that what she had spent these last three years working hard towards, she had actually accomplished: she has now passed the California bar. Go Kim!

Congratulations, Kim! Sustained effort over a long time makes some accomplishments so very sweet.

Our rain here hit the road and froze. Could have turned into a different child’s game – bumper cars – but mostly it just slowed travel way down.

nice job Kim!

we’re enjoying the weirdness of living in the mountains — forecast for 3 foot of snow in the mountains while we’re in a severe fire danger zone — strange weather indeed

Congratulations, indeed to Kim! Yes, we heard the thunder last evening, and heard the “Rain on the Roof”.

More about rain, and yesterday on my blog. Up next, when I get things sorted out.

Ah, I love slow weather days… nothing like a good, soft rain to make me want to curl up and knit.

Congrats, Kim! Well done!

Congratulations! A high school friend of mine passed the bar in CA yesterday as well.

It’s been an extraordinarily mild fall here in Maryland; we haven’t even really had a good frost yet. So odd to get up in the chill and hear crickets outside . . .

Congratulations, Kim!!! I can only imagine how much hard work and study time goes into passing the bar.

Back when we were living on the MIT campus, I went to a baby shower. In one of the games, we were each supposed to list something the expectant mom should take to the hospital when she went to deliver her baby. One woman sighed and said, “A dissertation?”
It’s so clever of Kim to have this out of the way first. It’s always easier to focus on one major accomplishment at a time.
