Lacewrecks

Some patterns are just not meant to be.

No matter how long it takes to find out that that design was sheer Lacewrecks. Never mind why.  I was playing with another new idea today and had a swatch big enough to think, hey, finish it into a cardigan front; I dampened it to see the stitches settle into their natural shapes and for a proper measure.  Went to do the math. (Lessee, four motifs took a half ounce, I’ve got X ounces, I can do this many repeats across and so many down before running out, and does that work size-wise if I do.  Yes.)

Went back in the other room where it was drying for remeasuring–swatches lie, so you have to catch them at it and test them again and again.

Count 1, 2…

Oh.  Oh my.

Out!  (No, I’m not going to show it to you. Although, my enjoyment of a good laugh is sorely tempting me.)  Nope nope nope.  Sorry!

Oh, now you’re teasing us! What did it look like? Something, ah, suggestive?

Hahaha! I’m glad you gave yourself a good laugh.

It must be in the California air! I had two back to back lacewrecks last night around 6pm. Great word, by the way 🙂

sorry that didn’t work out — back to the drawing board?

Aww, come on! You can’t tease us like that! After all, we learn from each other. I don’t want other people to make the same mistakes that I did. You don’t want me to accidentally duplicate your lacewreck, do you?!

I could use a good laugh this morning! I’m ignoring my knitting issues, hoping they go away by themselves. Funny thing though, when I check on the items in question, nothing has changed…

I love that word! Sorry you had a disaster. Good thing it was just a swatch, eh?

When having a hard time with the process of a shawl, in the future, I shall remember this posting. I suppose the passion you have for the art takes over the frustrations of the creation.

I’m glad you were able to have a good laugh. Your body got a chance to relax while you did. 😉

The mind imagines and boggles. We want photos!

Frog it. Right now, and have a cup of tea. Keep a record so that it does not tempt you again. Wicked pattern, that!

You have our family totally addicted you know….not to the Lacewrecks, though. The cakes.
Good laughs…good times.
