What were they smoking?

Really, it’s all just a matter of coming Bach to basics.  You know, like the garlic ice cream they sell in Gilroy.imgp7880

In the Happy Father’s Day department, one will note that I seem not to have been the only one with the idea: there was only one left in the whole store Friday.  I snatched it.  Mine.  And then, briefly, his. (He let me taste some, but the thing disappeared surprisingly fast when I walked back out of the room.)

For the man who lived in France for two years on a mission for the Mormon Church, came home, and taught me what True Chocolate was supposed to be like, lifting me from my Hershey wilderness into true European dark bliss.  And now you know why I really married him. Heh.

Vosge’s Haut.Chocolat to celebrate the day.  What could be more manly than an applewood-smoked bacon chocolate bar?

Now there’s a chocolate the Knight might appreciate…

As much as I LOVE chocolate and like bacon, I just cannot imagine the two of them together, no matter how many times I hear about it (this is the second). Happy Father’s Day to your dear husband and all the other fathers out there today 🙂

I started off in life on Hershey’s — milk chocolate, of all things. Today? Gaaah! More power to Richard for introducing you to the Good Stuff, and you know, of course, that dark chocolate is good for you. My doctor said so.

Humor:

Billy Graham has described heaven as a family reunion that never ends. What must hell possibly be like? Home videos of the same reunion?

A man has reached middle age when he is cautioned to slow down by his doctor instead of by the police.

Middle age is having a choice of two temptations and choosing the one that will get you home earlier.

You know you’re into middle age when you realize that caution is the only thing you care to exercise.

Don’t worry about avoiding temptation. As you grow older, it will avoid you.

The aging process could be slowed down if it had to work its way through Congress.

You’re getting old when you wake up with that morning-after feeling, and you didn’t do anything the night before.

It’s hard to be nostalgic when you can’t remember anything.

A plateau is a high form of flattery.

Truly – what will they think of next?
Me, I’ll stick with chili peppered chocolate.
It was nice to find out where your love for chocolate came from – the love of your life!

Happy Fathers Day all around! My hubby, I must share, had a very special day. He went out bought the girls their first bikes, assembled them, & spent the day helping them learn to ride. Good times for all:)

Bacon? In chocolate? Ewww. Sounds dreadful. Even if it’s just bacon flavouring, it still sounds like it would be off the chart on the Yuuck-o-meter.

I love my chocolate. PLAIN.

In my best Arte Johnson voice: “Veddy interesting … but weird.” I might have to try it (once).

…taught me what True Chocolate was supposed to be like, lifting me from my Hershey wilderness into true European dark bliss.

Amen.

*sigh*
I wish their website had ingredient lists. Without calling them it is impossible to tell if any of their chocolates are casein (dairy) free.
Oscar would likely love a Bacon bar, but it seems to only come in milk chocolate. I found him a Jimmy Buffett pocket t-shirt though. (His birthday is the first week of July.)
