You know how when you point a camera at a kid they give you a goofy face?  All I had to do was tell Marian I was going to take her picture and she gave me a goofy face. And I missed it.

The plumber agreed to come tomorrow, having an all-day job today–which he then finished early, called, rushed over, and rescued us.  Yay!

And life is good.

Well, keep your camera ready. There will be other funny face opportunities.

Yay for the plumber! At least he showed up before you were under watar.

My late wife Amalie discovered this bit of absolutely appropriate under any circumstances humor:

Some days all a man has to do is open his mouth and he takes his life into his own hands. This handy guide may help on that kind of day. Key: D = dangerous, S = safer, S+ = safest, and US = ultra safe.

Dangerous: What’s for dinner?
Safer: Can I help you with dinner?
Safest+: Where would you like to go for dinner?
Ultra Safe: Here, have some chocolate.

D: Are you wearing that?
S: Gee, you look good in brown.
S+: WOW! Look at you!
US: Here, have some chocolate

D: What are you so worked up about?
S: Could we be overacting?
S+ Here’s $50
US: Here, have some chocolate.

D: Should you be eating that?
S: You know, there are a lot of apples left.
S+: Can I get you a glass of wine with that?
US: Here, have some chocolate

D: What did you do all day?
S: I hope you didn’t overdo it today.
S+: I’ve always loved you in that robe!
US: Here, have some more chocolate.

That is what I tell my kids – your brothers and sisters are your greatest treasure.
Now I wonder is that plumber getting a lace scarf?

Woo hoo, the plumbing is fixed. Silly is important, it keeps you young.

The basics. It’s often about just the basics. Yes, life is good.

I’ve had similar feelings of being rescued when the washing machine repair man repaired the Bosch!

Yay! Thank the Lord!

Our heating/air-conditioning unit died the week before our daughter’s future in laws were to visit. We live in a brick oven. Quickly, praying, calling, calling…we got a new heat pump the day before they arrived. Yes, life is good. 🙂

Have a great time together and make sure to eat LOTS of chocolate (Don sure has that one right!). And I am sure you’ll be ready at the next “photo op” 🙂
