Shawl we continue?

Right. So I began a new project today, got interrupted, snagged the mostly-silk yarn getting off the couch, came back later, looked at the mess and frogged it on the spot.

I avoided it the rest of the day.  Don’wanna.  Silk is so lovely but it’s a bit of a pain to work with–you have to watch those needle tips every second so it doesn’t treat them like being on a slide at a water park.  Whoosh and away and hey, now let’s go running!

My favorite cure for not feeling like knitting is Knit Night, Thursdays at Purlescence: the colors and the wool fumes will do it every time, and, best of all, there are the good friends to be found there. Who knit.

I began.  Again.

We shawl. 😉 _giggles_
That is beautiful yarn. I’m such a klutz I could never knit with silk. Give me wool or cotton or a blend.

Oh, I found my knitting book (The Best of Knitter’s Magazine Shawls and Scarves) with the circular shawl pattern on the bookshelf! Seems I’d overlooked it because I kept looking for the darker cover (binding) of another shawl book …yours!

I’m envious that you can get together with a group of friends with the same love and passion for knitting as yourself….and to be at your LYS is such a bonus. I don’t have that opportunity with my LYS (sigh).

Indeed we shawl (good one, Toni!)!

I’m still hoping to buy the yarn, tomorrow, for my first Julia shawl. I will not be able to cast it on until later this year, but to have all I need on hand already will make me feel pretty empowered. 🙂

I’m glad even the best of us have those projects, those moments…

Yarn can be forgiven for a little fickleness when it is so sublime! Every knitter has mumbled under their breath while ripping something back – or they will! Enjoy your beautiful silk and the knitting of it.

A good reason to keep a nice simple knit ready to go. knitting frustration.

Ah, me. Sigh. I s’pose I should just leave my joke, and go outside and play.

A single guy decided life would be more fun if he had a pet.

So he went to the pet store and told the owner that he wanted to buy an unusual pet. After some discussion, he finally bought a talking centipede, (100-legged bug), which came in a little white box to use for his house.

He took the box back home, found a good spot for the box, and decided he would start off by taking his new pet to church with him. So he asked the centipede in the box, “Would you like to go to church with me today? We will have a good time.”

But there was no answer from his new pet.

This bothered him a bit, but he waited a few minutes and then asked again, “How about going to church with me and receive blessings?”

But again, there was no answer from his new friend and pet.So he waited a few minutes more, thinking about the situation. The guy decided to invite the centipede one last time.

This time he put his face up against the centipede’s house and shouted, “Hey, in there! Would you like to go to church with me and learn about God?”

This time, a little voice came out of the box,
“I heard you the first time!
“I’m putting on my shoes”

.

You get by with a little help from your friends…
🙂 Glad to hear it did the trick.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one with these moments. Our knit group has that effect on most of us as well. Sundays are my favourite day of the week (when our group meets.

I’ve been following you for quite a while as I’m contemplating jumping into the lace pool!

I am glad that you have tamed the fugitive. Can hardly wait to see what it will be when it grows up.

Judy’s home. Traffic on the parkway was horrible, there was fog and you know what? Nutley is quite a nice town – when you aren’t lost in it trying to find the Garden State Parkway.

I always think I’m going to be able to do it without directions. I need to start AGAIN.

Hmmm. Wool fumes. 🙂
A silk shawl…wow. I can’t wait to find out who the very special person is that will get this one!

About my comment on Stephanie’s blog. Yes, my co-worker eventually did work it out, but what a lot of trouble just because of a hyphenated name!
