Alison, I bought your book, and some beautiful yarn, from your husband at Lisa Souza’s. I can’t wait to try out the patters. I feel like it will be a lace year (and some socks too!).
Stitches is my fave. I have to get some of the Creative yarn. I looked and touched, now I have to go back and buy. Best wishes for the show, you are right, people who don’t knit, miss out on so much.

I love the idea of “revenge” being shawls and scarves and yarn flying back and forth. What a wonderful world it would be if all people everywhere would do that sort of thing!

Have a great time at Stitches, Alison. I bet the weather’s a lot nicer there than it is here — big snowstorm just started. I have a five-minute commute to work but hubby has to go an hour and a half.

I have been working on a pretty baby surprise sweater for a former co-worker — she’s due in March. I like the way it looks, but it’s a boucle-ish pompadour acrylic yarn, and has not been much fun to knit. The strands separate and the yarn squeaks on the needles. I plan to do a little hat to go along with the sweater, and THEN I am looking forward to getting my hands in contact with some nice natural fiber again! Not sure what project I’ll tackle, but it may be a good time to have another browse through your book. And if I can’t choose just one — which has been my problem so far — maybe I’ll dredge up another abandoned UFO and contemplate while I finish that.

My shawl for Susan turned out beautifully. Now that the dog is doing better, I’ll try and get a photo done.
Now I’m trying to decide which pattern to use for Courtney. Might as well face it, I’m addicted to knitting your shawls :-}

I saw a nice stack of your book at Lisa Souza’s booth last night as well as TONS of gorgeous yarn with which one could knit each pattern.

I don’t know if I’ll be able to wave to you from afar and it’s good we weren’t anywhere near each other recently – I had a sore throat at the preview last night but came home shivering – with a temp of 101! But luckily I made a few lovely purchases last night so I can help myself feel better by patting fiber today. 🙂

Lu, Lisa will be much amused–that was her husband, not mine. Rachel, get better! Allison, wow, yes, that line was incredible–and the people in it were nevertheless nice to me while I interrupted Debbie a moment there, asking where Kaci was. Ren, the Julia shawl is specifically for beginners: six stitches long, over and over, that’s it, and you can keep it short and tie it in front if you want, it doesn’t have to take long.

I wish everybody could go to Stitches!
