Go blog go!

I wondered how the earthquake could have brought down my blog, or what was going on. No access. The guy in India couldn’t understand me any better than I could understand him; I had him on speakerphone and my son was just shaking his head, too, going, huh?

I think that’s the first time I’ve encountered Indian Muzak. Someone somewhere suddenly seemed to realize, oh, wrong continent, and the phone switched to James Taylor whining, as we waited forever, “They’ll hurt you. And desert you. They’ll take your soul if you let them…”

So after an Ice Age or two, and calls to the hubby on the side (my version of Ken), I wandered to Stephanie’s blog, where she shows a picture of the whole top of a sock knitted while wrestling with tech support. My son looked at that, and went, That’s all she knitted?

Tomorrow, they finally said. And then all the sudden, Poof! Blog! Yay!

So I guess that was a 5.6 blogquake, and not a Big One. Phew.

Wow, that must be something to have earthquakes. Not like here in Ol’ Maryland. We just get hurricanes or big snows every few winters or so… oh, and don’t forget the ever popular “ice storm” that shuts all of the highways down 🙂

It’s good that you’re safe and sound. Earthquakes scare me–nowhere to get away and hide. I went through a 4 on a trip out to LA to visit family once, and it really freaked me out.

I was wondering what had happened to you. Glad to know that all is well

I really dislike getting tech support that can barely speak English. I understand that it’s not their first language, but clearly spoken english should be a requirement if your job is a customer support job of any kind! and up here in Canada, it’s not unusual for the speaker to be French with very little English. I have actually found that using my crappy high school French to be more effective than listening to their bad English!

Glad you “survived!” Had to laugh at
your son’s comment – bet he didn’t
factor in the frogging from the
aggravation of being on hold!!

Earthquakes? I’ve never had the pleasure. I live on the prairie in the middle of Canada. We get every other sort of natural wrath (wind, rain, snow, tornadoes, blizzards, fires..but not earthquakes!) I’m certainly glad you came through it okay.

I had to chuckle at Stephanie’s progress while on the phone with her tech guy…I’ve solved that issue and brought one into the fold…my husband. He keeps the technology going and I keep him in Aran sweaters…a fair trade if you ask me :)If there is any “being on hold with the tech guy” well he takes care of all that frustration and I happily click along until the technology is humming once again. 🙂
