Had to say that I so enjoyed ready your stories and found some very moving and full of meaning, especially as I have been diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. Thank you, I shall come back for more stories, Claire xx

Allison, I am writing regarding your embossed diamonds afghan. It is a BEAUTIFUL afghan and I am wanting to make it but am having some difficulty. I can't seem to make the stitches add up. When I count, I come up with 10 stitches used and created in the diamond pattern between the asterisks, but the stitches before and after the asterisk don't add up from line to line, and I end up with a bunch of extra stitches to fill in with knits at the end of the row before the rib section. I may be doing something simple that is wrong, but please help if you get a minute -I am dying to make this afghan:) thanks so much for your website! Sincerely, Susan

Alison,

My dear friend. You must start knitting this shawl in colors I can wear! (So I can grab the model-copy:-)) I'm here to say that my current chickens come in a number of good colors for me.

Red, brown, red-brown, gold, red-gold. It all works. (Peacock's better, but my chicken's don't come in those colors!)

And yes, folks, I am Alison's friend Constance, and the chicken feather snow only happened that one time in the past 9 years. Which makes me happy that I sent the girls out to play in the snow we had.

Alison's stories are both very true, and very kind.

Cheers,

Constance
