June birthdays

Happy Birthday to my son Richard! Who did not quite make it in time for Dad’s birthday but by waiting a day did make it so I got the obstetrician I wanted, so Dad laughed when we called to say it was a boy and told me it was okay.

One of my sisters had a daughter on his birthday two years later.

One of my sisters had a son the day before (edit, with her help: three days after) his birthday I think two years after that. All three had part of his name in theirs.

The cowl picture doesn’t have anything to do with any of that other than hey, cast that off and finish it already, willya? I was always the late one.

Geoffrey Lawrence was born June 8…was going to be Robert Lorenzo–the only time I had picked out a firm name if it was a boy. (We didn’t used to know ahead of time.) Then it just didn’t fit. The Lorenzo was for Dad, his grandfather (and a cool name), so we felt we needed to keep part of the name…so we ended up using it directly. Note: Never bring a baby home from the hospital without a name. We batted choices back and forth for a week. Then had to make sure the birth certificate was entered.

Happy birthdays!

My family didn’t manage that, which is probably good because my mother and her sister were born two days (and three years) apart, and are still somewhat bitter about having to share a cake every year. But my mother’s is June 9, my brother’s is September 9, and mine is October 9, so we have that!

We all were on an 11th. Mom, me, grandmother, grandfather, my first anniversary. Even the young man that always said I should have married HIM as he was born on an 11th.

That cowl is a lovely color and pattern.

Our family (which is not big) seems to go in bumps. A bump of 3 in January (plus one from dec 31), a bump of 3 in March, a bump of 4 in June, a bump of 4 in July, only 2 in September, a bump of 3 in late October/early November. Then a few scattered through the other months.

Love that cowl – it’s a beautiful colour.
