I got the Christmas stockings put away in their bin.
The hearth looks so bare.
I was going to start in on the tree… Looking at it a moment, I instead turned the lights on and let it glow. One more day won’t hurt.

Tree needs to stay up till Epiphany, or Jan. 6.
Last year I left the garland on my stairs up till Mardi Gras.

In my corner of the world we also called it “Ukrainian Christmas” because of the Orthodox calendar. It’s also a celebration of light since the solstice has come and days are getting longer!
Happy New Year.

Chiming in on January 6th!!! 🙂
My daughter loves the fact that the sun goes down early: it means she gets to turn on the lights in the tree early too. Sweet angel…
