Tell me

Got a chance to talk for just a few moments to someone new at church. I can’t imagine being an American living in Russia, but she did for most of the last decade and told me just a bit about it before we were interrupted. There are so many stories waiting for when we have more time. When we make the time.

Ever since, I’ve been keenly wanting to ask not just her but everybody, just everybody, all day, what their own stories are. How they got to be where they are now, what they’ve learned from, some one thing they’ve gone through that they think might help someone else to know about, something that mattered to them.

Anyone want to share anything, please, I want to hear.

I’m not traveled, and I’ve never rubbed shoulders with (known) great minds or movers and shakers, but boy do I have stories…too many to write about here. The things that stay with me are the incredible acts of kindness people have shown me and mine at times when we were most needy and vulnerable. Many people have an immense capacity for love and hugely generous, selfless spirits. I do what I can to pay it forward mostly in small ways, but always with love and much gratitude.

I think over the years you have “heard” my stories. Growing up on the rez, moving to Vegas, the grand trip to the east. Second chances at life, G-d’s plans and mysteries. I doubt I have many caverns left to explore.
