These were the types of people so many Syrians have been fleeing from.

I am grateful beyond words for those who put their home addresses on Twitter under the porteouvert hashtag: my door is open to you. Come. Safety and comfort and a real place to go for any stranded after stumbling away from the horror as the authorities demanded that all seek shelter inside.

Thus they take in the whole world. We are all Parisians today.

We celebrated a local synagogue’s 125 years anniversary last night. And held each other tight when we prayed for “the outside world”. The highs to the very lows.

My heart aches. And here at home my church and other churches in our area are working hard to be ready to bring 3 families from Syrian refugee camps. You might like to read the post today from Cecilia at `’The Kitchens Gardens. great blog, great pictures, great words today.

My heart breaks at the aftermath of the violence and then starts to heal with the porteouvert hashtag.
