Imprinting

I cranked up the stereo to knit by and wondered when the mockingbird will be doing a Dan Fogelberg impersonation?

Earlier in the day, clearly the hawk dove in for his mourning meal. Michelle Millar writes that doves have a lot of dust in their feathers that they leave behind when they hit something.

It had imprinted on this house as its place of safety but discovered it to be a bit of a pane.

And yet I do think it had a ghost of a chance. I found no flurry of feathers. From all I can tell, it escaped the worst and it lived.

And the mockingbird de-clears the stained glass artist a one-hit wonder.

(Thirteen rows today, twenty-eight to go.)

Mmm, Dan Fogelberg. Loved his version of “Rhythm of the Rain” every bit as much as the original…

Two pigeons left marks on my window. The second lived to fly away but the first was not as lucky.

Doves leave an angel imprint on your window.I had big windows in my other house and it happened quite a few times. I didn’t find any dead birds but I bet they had a big headache.A imature red tailed hawk hit my kitchen window one time and scared the be-jesus out of me. He sat in the hedge a few minuets and then flew away. WHEW!

I have to remember to swallow my coffee before I read your posts, just in case. It was close this morning… All hail the Queen of the Puns!

Obviously you either have too much time on your hands or you do too much thinking while knitting.

I have a friend whose auto license plate reads TOP PUN. I’m not so sure she is.

LOL…hadn’t thought of much old Dan in recent years, but enjoyed him back when. My deja-vu listening yesterday was Alison Kraus. “Baby, now that I’ve found, I can’t let you go….”

Go go go! Soon you’ll have something nice and snuggly for yourself–worth it!

Yes, doves do leave an imprint on windows. I learned this when one dove across the road under a bridge just as I was driving under it. Dove shaped smudge on the window – and sadly, dead dove rolled down the windshield, coming to a stop on the windshield wipe, looking in through the window at me with an almost apologetic look. I couldn’t stop immediately – traffic was heavy – and boy, did I get some weird looks as people passed and saw me driving with a dead dove on my window. They thought I was some sort of freak.

No wonder the dove looked apologetic.
