Well, he sure got himself in the news. I cringed everytime he was given air time.

A little church by the side of the road, less than 50 parishioners and able to draw this much attention. Some people will do anything to get their 15 minutes of fame, I guess.

So depressing! Every time I thought about this, I thought about all the lives he was risking with his misguided sense of the First Amendment and big ego. Now that he’s withdrawn his plans, let’s just go back to ignoring him!

It really bothers me that some people think being a Christian means being right and having the only way into the Kingdom of God! Tolerance just isn’t a word in their vocabulary. Can we say “Judgemental”?

I think you nailed it – everytime I heard news of this, the word “narcissist” entered my mind unbidden. But then I think this is the unintended, I hope, consequence of those who have used much more consistent national stages to monger hate for political or financial gain.

I agree with you — some portion of our population seems to have sunk to the low level of everything we say we abhor — I think we should assign him a very long book report on Fahrenheit 451

Revelation warns of bad churches and leaders who use the church for their own agendas. They come along in every age, just about in every town. I’m just glad he came to his senses and I trust he enjoyed his 15 minutes of fame.

I really wish the media would start giving this individual the attention he deserves-none. The only reason he does this is to get media attention. Sort of like a spoiled child who acts out cause negative attention is better than no attention.

A copycat church in Amarillo, Texas tried to stage a copycat burning. The local UU church mobilized by phone and Facebook and drew a crowd of about 200 to protest.
