Purl up with a good yarn there

The hospital project is done and blocking.

The Mooi got worked on at Purlescence tonight, where Nathania instantly knew what that yarn was just to look at it. I told her it had been a great comfort. She looked in my eyes and answered, “We take care of our people.”

And they do there. And everybody is their people.

A) Wow you knit fast!!!

B) What a lovely group of people to have and that have you. Makes me wish I was a part of it all. It’s just a bit of a drive from the Central Valley to the Bay Area for a knit night! LOL

Congratulations on being through both “projects”.

I agree with Mary: you ARE fast! 🙂

One of the things that moved me the most, once I got more involved with my tai chi club, is the importance to look people in the eye when you talk to them. The first time someone I admired did that to me, I felt recognized, acknowledged – I was beaming. Now, I make a conscious effort to do the same with all the newcomers (and the standing members) and I can definetely tell the effect it has when I succeed.

Speed knitter, even when you’re doped up… down?

I need to find the right project for my own hank of Mooi. (Or shall I be rewarded for my patient procrastination?)

Yes, looking someone in the eyes is MOST important!

From this morning’s comics:
Two youngsters leaving school. One says, “That vocabulary test was hard! Did you know how to use ‘gruesome’ in a sentence?”

And the other kid says, “It was simple. ‘The gardener likes flowers, so he gruesome'”

Oh, yes! Purlescence is a great store! I discovered them in early spring 2007 when I heard about the Blue Moon Fiber Arts banking fiasco and searched for a store to support BMFA. I was heading for a retreat near Monterey and Purlescence was on my list. They are an annual must-visit when I can get down there. I’m about 90 miles north, so only get there once or twice a year, but the staff is extra helpful by phone as well. I’ve purchased by phone and they’ve done special orders for me. The packages always arrive with a personal note. I’m happy to be part of their people. Some year I’ll finally make it down for knit night.
