Lacking a certain server-faire

(Written elevenish Thursday night.)

Last night, I went to hit “publish” and my network was down for maintenance. A moment of insomnia later and I got up and finally hit that button, wondering whether I dared re-read and try to edit the thing with what my brain might come up with at nearly 4 am.

Tonight, calling ISP tech support, it was, oh, sorry, that server should be back up in two hours. I’m crossing my fingers and trying just once before turning in.

And did I mention my printer suddenly isn’t working so I wasn’t able to print out any of those designs I’ve spent all that time on the last two days?

But in blog news today (assuming it’s still today when this goes up), actual knitting did finally commence anyway. At last!

Cross my needles, there’s the little blue button to the right on the screen, wish me luck…

I understand this whole printer deal — just when I got my scanner/printer thing all up and working again, this morning I started getting the printer’s version of the blue screen of death — the printer heads are on their last legs — minimal printing until pay day!

Likewise… Around 10:30 my time last night, in mid-email, suddenly the Facebook tab announced it was no longer connected. Huh?

Turns out that the surge protector the Knight hooked up in the bedroom somehow wigged out the router, temporarily. Makes no sense to me…

I missed you this morning… Reading your blog is part of what gets my day going.

I’m glad it finally worked and I could read something new from you. 🙂

We all have similar problems. I use a wireless mouse and keyboard, and every now and then I go to move the curser – and nothing! Curses! Or I get a messaeg on the screen YOUR KEYBOARD IS NO LONGER CONNECTED. Generally new battery time.

We all need a bit of humor:

If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance.
Be really nice to your family and friends; you never know when you might need them to empty your bedpan.

Nothing sends my blood pressure higher than computer problems. Wait, that’s only because there’s no Star Trek. When Sky wouldn’t get me connected a decade ago and I was missing Star Trek, THAT freaked me out. (Oh, how very pampered and privileged we are to have woes such as these.)

computer issues? you too? I wonder who the third person is… (my mom always says bad things happen in threes)
