That Dianne is somethin’ else!! I met her at the sock summit and bouhgt one skein…there is always so much more than meets the eye in those skeins!

That is gorgeous yarn! Actually the fact that it’s so pretty should take the pressure off you because whatever it becomes can’t help but be beautiful.

THE Monet? REALLY!!!????

before my daughter went to school (and during school breaks after that) she stayed with a most awesome lady who had a fine arts degree and thought that little kids should be exposed to great art — so when the De Young Museum had an Impressionist exhibit when she was about 3 years old, we took her (and her “Amma”) to see it

of course Amma had spent many weeks talking to her about Monet and Degas before hand

imagine the amazement of fellow museum attendees (especially those who had expressed doubts about us bringing so young a child while we were standing in line outside) when she could identify the painters of the pieces!

she still adores Monet — imagine how excited she will be when I share this little tid bit with her (back to the six degrees of separation!)

Even a non-knitter like me can see that that yarn is gorgeous! I think LynnM is right — anything you make should be beautiful.

WOW a MONET protege…I am in awe! Monet is my favorite artist of all time. Some of his works were on exhibit in a museum a couple of hours from us and we went at 3 in the morning to see them as those were the only tickets left. It was AMAZING!

Even in an unblocked puff-ball the Manos shawl looks beautiful & inviting!

How hard is the pressure from the chickadees? Or are we talking more of a contemplation than a supervision?

Saw my first Monet up close in Houston Museum of Fine Art last month. I spent so long in front of it, the guard started eyeballing me. Imagine working in a place where such art becomes the wallpaper…
