Having mortified one kid, now I get to do it to the rest of them.

Dinner conversation: we got to discussing bad pop songs.  Which morphed somehow into talking about some of the songs in the Shrek movies and a debate between husband and daughter as to whether a particular song was done as a parody of that song, or was it done in earnest?

At which I casually mentioned, “You know why I knit so much baby alpaca?”

No, they asked me, why?

“Because” (breaking into song) “I’m… too sexy for my sheep. Too sexy for my sheep!”

Heh…that would be even funnier if I could figure out what song you were singing. Hubby Dearest LOVES Shrek, and all the music in it, as do the boys. Guess who has the cd as well as (all) the DVDs?

You could precipitate a food fight with parodies like that!

Actually, there is a whole genre of songs called “filk songs” that can be really clever parodies. My eldest and her DH are filk connoisseurs.

Too funny! You should record it and put it on YouTube.

Thinking about it, “Right Said Jepp'” has a better ring to it if you decide to follow up on Joansie’s suggestion.

We’re in the process of moving, and my turtle stayed with my BiL for a few days. He came out singing turtle face.

My mind immediately put the words to Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’.

What a clever woman you are!!!

Had me laughing out right! Good thing I’m by myself, not in an office. 😉

I hope you have a great day!

Have you ever read “Dave Barry’s Book of Bad Songs”? It is a very funny analysis of many ridiculous pop songs. You would enjoy it.

Also, my daughter’s cross country team (XC for short) had T-shirts made that read “I am too XC for my shirt,” much to my husband’s confusion.

Now, now! No food fights.

Fun –

A passenger at an airport at Christmas time was going through security when she noticed a sprig of mistletoe dangling above the security guard. “What’s the mistletoe for?” she asked. “That?” said the guard, “that’s so you can kiss your luggage goodbye”.

Luckily, cocoa coated almonds are easy to wipe off a monitor…

LOL!! And I’m singing right along with you. That song will be going through my head all evening.
