Actually, the one we have in the living room, my mom said was the most comfortable hide-a-bed type bed she'd ever slept on. We bought all these from The Futon Shop, which now sells online; they're a local company that makes all their own mattresses locally. Not outsourced. Green materials. I don't know about their other mattresses, but our thick top-of-the-line ones have served us well and comfortably for 11 years, which is why we went back to them.

Yup, futons make great 'spare bedroom' furniture. comfortable enough for a night or 3, not so comfortable the guest wants to stay TOO long! LOL

Interesting how change changes our view of things, huh?

Stare all you want. It won't mind. It's part of what it's meant to be, I believe. ;-)

Nah, you now need to splurge on some of those toy, foam mat blocks that zigsaw together. You can place them on top of just about anything and not have to crawl on the floor.
Then you can carry your blocked project from room to room and drive everyone nuts!

Aw! This made me kind of sad. I'm not ready for futons! Thank goodness I'll still have mine around for a few more years.

Somebody said it: The only thing that's constant is change. So enjoy.

Fun -

Humor from Click and Clack:
Someone had written in asking whether a 1974 Ford F-100 pickup could carry a load of rocks she wanted for landscaping. Their advice was negative, saying that the ‘100’ designation meant that it was meant to have a capacity of 1000 pounds.

Tom: Or two and a half mothers-in-law.

Ray: According to our rock insiders, dry gravel weighs around a hundred pounds a cubic foot. That’s heavy.

Tom: If you pile the gravel one foot high , you have 32 cubic feet. That’s 3200 pounds.

Ray: Or four broken springs and two broken axles.

I turned my daughter's room into a sewing room some years ago. My local fabric shop was having a Hallowe'en get-together last Saturday so I decided to dress up as my stash. I emptied three bins of fabric scraps onto the floor and pinned various bits all over a long dress and also a hat. The end result was quite funny and got a lot of attention, mostly people saying "I have that fabric too". Anyway the point of my story is that after I got back home and walked into my sewing room it was an absolute mess, with fabric bits all over the place. It was a total flashback to the way my lovely (and tidy now) daughter used to keep her room, a big empty closet and clothes all over the floor and furniture. Ah, sweet memories!
