Ditto on the piano playing. It got so I would cringe if I heard one little click – I didn’t even have to be told, they were chopped for the next lesson. Thanks for sending my mind back to think of all my piano teachers. I loved them all except for one who insisted I play Bela Bartok. Yuk. I was/am a romantic and wanted Chopin and Beethoven. We did not understand each other at all!

I had to laugh at the fingernail story — my piano teacher was the same way, and to this day, I keep my nails short!

Thanks for linking to Carol’s Fingernail Friday. Amazing. My daughter loves long, painted nails despite playing the piano. It was her guitar teacher who made her trim them years ago.

Well I’m a guy, and long fingernails are not for me. Because of my handicap I cannot trim my own nails, so I go to a manicurist. Every now and then she asks what color polish I want. Um, no thanks.

I can’t tolerate long nails to this day – the moment they click, they’re outta-here! It’s all those years of piano in our past that keeps us from being glamor gals. (I suspect long nails would get in the way with knitting, too.)
