Ah, a first 🙂

I am SO glad we can again embiggen your pics – that scarf is lovely!!

You want to buy time but YOU know if you get it done this week you will be that much closer to healing. And really, don’t you want to be completely recovered in time for the fall holidays?

Hugs, wish I could be there waiting for you to wake up Wednesday after surgery, but instead I will be here waiting for word in Cleveland-town.

I am so glad. Yes, I know that nerves two days before surgery are almost harder than the day of, but I am SO glad that your body is fighting that staph infection. To me, that means your Leukocytes are armed and ready for battle, ready to keep you safe while you heal.

I want you to know that all day Wednesday and Thursday and as long as it takes I will be knitting on your bag and thinking of you.
I will also be knitting other stuff (new patterns on big needles) when my hands get tired of tiny tight stitches, but the bag will be always at hand, and will be my main project. It already sits beside me every day, and is petted and admired by the people special enough to visit me (Sean likes it a LOT).

“I see nothing now that would give a surgeon pause before going ahead.” Thank goodness, indeed! Surgery is NEVER fun (I know), nor is the anticipation. But soon you will be on the mend. What with all the prayers coming your way, and the skill of the doctors, it cannot be otherwise. Rest easy that so many are rooting for you.

And a bit of humor to go with it —

A lady called to make a reservation. “I want to go from Chicago to Rhino, New York.” I was at a loss. Finally I asked, “Are you sure that’s the name of the town?” “Yes. What flights do you have?” she answered.
After some searching, I came back with, “I’m sorry,ma’am. I’ve looked up every airport code in the country and I can’t find a Rhino anywhere.” The lady retorted, “Oh, don’t be silly! Everyone knows where it is. Check your map!” I scoured a map of the state of New York and finally offered, “You don’t mean Buffalo, do you?”
“That’s it! I knew it was a big animal,” she said.

Yesterday would be a much better day for surgery than tomorrow. So hang on until tomorrow turns into yesterday. We’ll hope that sometime you’ll be remembering it as a long time ago. Go! Fight! Win! Alison!

Back when you were a kid in Maryland, did you ever watch the weather report in winter and hope there’d be a snow day so you’d get more time to study for a final exam? No chance of snow tomorrow, I suppose but that really is a good thing. Out of the way ASAP. BTW, I’m really lovin’ Diana T’s bag! Take care. So many people are thinking of you!

That’s wonderful news. Pre-surgery nerves are always there even when we know it has to be. Before you know it you will be recovering, the surgery will be a part of your past, and prayerfully your last:)

A little bit of good news is always most welcome. This will soon be over and done.

The scarf is very pretty and will be a wonderful gift to an unsuspecting nurse. I doubt they get many gifts…what a thoughtful idea! I’m so glad to hear you’re doing better and my husband and I are both holding you and your medical team in our thoughts and prayers…I hope all your speed knitting has been keeping your mind off of what’s ahead…and more toward the looks of surprise and delight of everyone getting your scarves!
