It must be wonderful to be surrounded, litteraly, by so much love. :) I'm glad you got the visit from that bird!

Your post makes me think that lace scarves might be the way to go for all my spur-of-the-moment presents too.

I vow to prepare a stash of those as soon as mom's Julia is done (even though I can't get to THAT project until September. *sigh*

Keep smiling!

I love that colorway, too. I had a different thought than TripletMom. If that finch is anything like my cat or the demanding robin in my yard it was letting you know you're late and don't let it happen again! You may be its friend, then again you may just be staff ; ) BTW what is it about watching animals eat that is so fun? I still love watching my collie gobble her dinner and my cat nibble so daintily! It's also fun watching them drink water. It never gets old.

And people laugh at ME because I insist my dogs and I can "talk." ;)

LOVE that colorway. I think I used some Manos wool a couple of years ago in a very similar colorway. Off to look up the name of the yarn...

The following is a message from OSHA: Never use a chair as a ladder! LOL! I'm glad your birdie friends are getting so friendly with you. If I so much as look out the window the birds scatter from my feeders.

Maybe the finch was simply coming by to say thanks for the delicious meals you've been providing. The scarf looks divine.

“all *gonnnne*…” Maybe the finch got it.

Fun:

THE WHITE LIE CHURCH CAKE

Alice was to bake a cake for the church ladies' bake sale, but she forgot to do it until the last minute. So she baked an angel food cake and when she took it from the oven, the center dropped flat.

She said, "Oh dear, there's no time to bake another cake." She looked around the house for something to build up the center of the cake and Alice found it in the bathroom ... a roll of toilet paper. She plunked it in and covered it with icing. The finished product looked beautiful, so she rushed it to the church.

Before she left the house, Alice had given her daughter some money and specific instructions to be at the bake sale the minute it opened, and to buy that cake and bring it home. When the daughter arrived at the sale, the attractive cake had already been sold. Alice was beside herself.

The next day, Alice was invited to a friend's home where two tables of bridge were to be played that afternoon. After the game, a fancy lunch was served, and to top it off, the cake in question was presented for dessert.

When Alice saw the cake, she started to get out of her chair to rush into the kitchen to tell her hostess all about it, but before she could get to her feet, one of the other ladies said, "What a beautiful cake!" Alice sat back down in her chair when she heard the hostess (who was a prominent church member) say, "Thank you. I baked it myself."
