Thinner but just as menacing as the Jay Birds around here in Ohio! I love how they can mimic other birds, bullies though they are – even with the squirrels!

That’s quite a yarn you spin about the Jay!

Cliff reminded me of a joke that a former doctor, now retired, told me many years ago.

A drunk comes wobbling out on the ice with all kinds of fishing gear. He has a pole, a bucket filled with various gear, and a little stool. He plunks down on the stool,and reaches in the bucket for an axe. He’s about to try to chop a hole in the ice, when a voice booms down on him, “DON’T CUT A HOLE IN THE ICE! THERE”S NO FISH DOWN THERE! Startled, the drunk looks around, but doesn’t see anyone. So he shoves his gear about 10 feet across the ice, and again pulls out the axe. “HEY! I TOLD YOU NOT TO CUT A HOLE IN THE ICE!! THERE’S NO FISH DOWN THERE!”

Once again he looks around, stands up on unsteady legs, and turns all the way around, but he sees no one. Now he picks up all his gear, and trudges clear across the ice, plops down, and once more pulls out the axe. “HEY! IDIOT! I TOLD YOU NOT TO CUT A HOLE IN THE ICE. THERE’S NO FISH DOWN THERE!!

Thoroughly bewildered, the drunk stands again, looks all around, but sees no one. He stammers, “Uh, uh, uh, … are ..you, uh, …God?”

“NO,I’M NOT GOD. I’M THE MANAGER OF THIS ICE RINK!”

The Jays ound here in the Midwest are def not Bikini ready and they are way to a dressive to “measure for a suit”! 🙂

Mr. Scruff often indicates to me that clothing is a tremendous nuisance. It will be time to go outdoors, and there’s dumb old Robin fussing with a hat, a coat, a scarf. Can’t she see it’s time to be on the move? All that shilly-shallying about is just so much extra time spend indoors that could be better spent outdoors.

Jays are too too. Bossy. But it comes in handy sometimes. That fixed that. 😉

Several years ago 3 or 4 of the eastern ones were in my wisteria tree/bush hiding from a red-tailed hawk. The hawk had seen them. They fought, and the hawk won. Took one the jays out (of the wisteria) for (it’s) lunch.

Yes that is indeed quite the match! Holy Cow. Even though the yarn says “Spilled Wine” for the colorway, please don’t ever spill wine on the blouse OR the knitted item you will make with it.

Karin mentioned to me after this posted that the yarn works up on the same size sock needles to the same thickness as other sock yarns.

Wow…you’d-a fooled me that birdie there is a Blue Jay. Sheesh, everyone from California is ready for the beach–slim and pretty.

I’ve had such a busy summer that now I’ve gotta catch up on the blogs I love so much!
