The doctor called me once, years ago. "If you want to see your mother again, you'd better come this weekend."

I couldn't go. My brother Chris did. Mom had a tube down her throat. She couldn't talk. She wanted to say something. They brought her a piece of paper and a pen. "Candy." Candy?! What on earth?

Had her grandchildren received the candy she sent them for Christmas?

Recently I took a notion to knit a 2-year-old great-niece a dress. Why on earth? Don't like this yarn!

But on Mother's Day I found myself knitting for my mother's great-grand-daughter. Mom, a knitter, would have been pleased.

Oh. I did go visit Mom the weekend after her supposed last one. I was greeted with, "Take me home!"

I can't think of any knitting better than the color of that yarn with that pattern. Beautiful!

beeYOOOtiful.
I discovered in my garden a ROSE BUSH growing.
I had dug up my roses to send with a friend moving away, as I can no longer garden as I wish to.
BUT there is a set of leaves coming up from where my Sutter's Gold once bloomed. Likely the stock plant for the graft, but it will be interesting to see what develops :-}

I'm so glad Richard is now doing well. The ER is scary whether you're the sick person or the accompanying one. Happy Mother's Day!

I love the color. And the new project looks wonderful. I wish I was more proficient in lace.

It's interesting how often, when we do something "for no reason", there's a reason there somewhere. What a lovely color!
