California bluejay

I’ve been trying for days, and this is as close as I’ve gotten so far.  This jay was particularly bright and blue in the morning sun, and it let me open the sliding glass door, slowly, slowly.  One unsteady click of the camera, though, and it was ducking into the shelter of the larger trees and away.

It’s beautiful out there.

(Edited to add: Knitpicks just put “Wrapped in Comfort” at 40% off! Just in case, you know, anybody besides me might be jumping up and down over that.)

Quit that. Now I’m missing West of the Mississippi.

I’ve never forgotten the BlueJay that ate the cat’s food, and would even run the poor cat away from the food…

But if it’s on sale doesn’t that mean you get less money from it? I’d rather pay full price and make sure you got as much from it as possible.

That’s sweet of you and thank you, but no. “This product settles by volume, not by weight.” Heh.

That is indeed good to know! I always worry about those discounts, and whether the author/s get their fair share.

I love the photo of the jay. I don’t love that I can’t buy from Knitpicks because I am in Australia. I do love that the internet filter at work doesn’t block out your blog so I can read it and write to you instead of missing out on reading. what a glorious day it is now that I know I can keep in touch more regularly.

I love birds. I clicked and gloried in the jay.
Thank you!

Those birds — they just keep moving! I guess that’s what makes good pictures such a treat 🙂

Guess what I’m ordering from Knitpicks?

Interesting. The blue jays in my mother’s backyard were cocky things. You could walk up to within about4 feet of them before they took off. Screeching the whole time….
